I’ve been diagnosed with a “nasty strain” of glandular fever, can someone explain different strains of it?
I have back ache, vomiting, fever and exhaustion. The blood test says it is Glandular fever but I have no swelling in my neck, all the doctor said was it was a “nasty strain”. Can someone explain this?

nasty strain means infectious agent that is difficult to treat,so that might be anything eg staph,streptococus or anything.doctor must have done some blood tests or cultures,those will tell you what infection have you got.you can fever ,backache and vomiting without throat selling

This is a viral disease.With this your WBC (white blood cells ) are increased Caused by the Epstein Barr virus.A member of the herpes family.Symptoms -fever,headaches,plugged nose, nausea,sore throats, swollen lymph nodes,neck,arm pits and groins, Incubation periods between 7-4 days the symptoms may last for a while.
Most know this as mono.
